If your oven consistently burns or overcooks food on one side, the oven isn't distributing heat evenly. This is almost always a fan-related issue in a fan oven.

Fan Oven

In a fan oven, uneven cooking usually means:

  • The fan element has partially failed — one side burns while the other stays cooler
  • The fan motor is running slowly or intermittently

Both faults cost £90–£150 to repair.

Conventional Oven

In a conventional (non-fan) oven, uneven cooking is more common as hot air isn't circulated. However, if it's significantly worse than before, a heating element may have partially failed.
